Abstract.
Cytogenetic abnormalities in IVF patients are one of essential factors of infertility. According to the order of Health Ministry of the Russian Federation No.107n «On the use of assisted reproductive technologies, indications and limitations to their use» by 30.08.12, for IVF patients, cytogenetic analysis is optional and not shown explicitly. However, this type of research is strictly required for gametes and embryos donors. In our study we compared karyotypes of IVF patients and oocyte donors. The study found both patients and donors carrying cytogenetic abnormalities. For those patients preimplantation genetic diagnosis of embryos was offered. Donors with identified chromosome abnormalities were removed from the oocyte donation program. Often carriers of chromosomal rearrangements do not have clinical symptoms and are detected only in patients with infertility. According to our data, karyotyping is the necessary analysis for all IVF clinic patients.
Key words:
