Abstract.
An investigation of the fundus of 110 children with type I diabetes has been performed in the fundus camera with photo registering and archives compiling. It can be concluded that symptomatic changes in the microvasculature of fundus (of the retina) is connected with a duration of diabetes. Diabetic retinopathy was diagnosed among half of the children (45.5%) with diabetes duration of more than 10 years, in 3 cases — severe stage of nonproliferative diabetic retinopathy, in 2 cases — preproliferative stage, and in one case — proliferative. In case of diabetes duration less than 10 years only retinal angiopathy was registered. It can be recommended to continue monitoring of the fundus with photo registering for assessment of the state of microcirculation in dynamics.
