Abstract.
The significant gender-specific differences in morphological features and biomechanical performances of contractility («force-length» and «force-velocity» relations) were found in healthy and hypertrophied myocardium of Wistar rats. The differences build up during the adaptation of myocardial contractility to the external loads.
Key words:
rat myocardium, hypertrophy, gender-specific differences, force-length and force-velocity relations.
