Abstract.
E-cadherin — one of the most important cell adhesion molecules in epithelial tissues, which forms adherent junctions between two interacting cells. E-cadherin plays an important role in tissue forming during gastrulation, neurulation and organogenesis. In tissues of adult organism E-cadherin participates in epithelium stratum forming and in signal pathway realization. Downregulation of E-cadherin in tumor development activates signaling cascade and leads to more invasive phenotype of tumor cells, increasing of their migration, survival and distant metastsases development.
