Abstract. Investigated the effect of diets and dietary energy supply on the state of carbohydrate and fat metabolism and endocrine status in the group of new comers of the Far North, polar length of 2 months. Shows that of the Far North as carbohydrate (Prot :Fat: Carb) 10:25:64 % (4600 kcal), and type of food the indigenous population (Prot :Fat: Carb) 20:50:30 % (3800 kcal) inadequate. Ration with the percentage of the main components of 16:40:44 % (3800 kcal) is optimal in structure, has anti-atherogenic and antistress properties. Conclusion is based on the study of carbohydrate and fat metabolism, the results of insulin tolerance test. The structure of the diet should be constant, daily energy content of the diet may vary depending on the severity of labor.

Key words: new comers of the Far North, food, carbohydrate metabolism, lipid metabolism, endocrine status.
