Abstract. A study of the spectral characteristics of the electroencephalogram (EEG) in primary school children during the increasing, maximum, decreasing the minimum duration of daylight. The paper presents the amplitude and frequency dynamics of basic EEG rhythms, their interrelation with periods of natural light. Revealed the dominance of low-frequency delta- and thetarhythms during periods of increasing and decreasing daylight in all parts of the brain. Also was an increase in amplitude and spectral characteristics of alpha- and beta1-rhythm in the spring. Revealed that adaptive tuning of brain activity occur in contrasting seasons. Periods of maximum and minimum daylight, can be considered more favorable for the functioning of the central nervous system and the development of higher mental functions of children.

Key words: children, north, electroencephalography, daylight.
