Abstract. Researched morphological and functional status of physical development of 180 8-year old children from northern region. Studied influence of sex and somatotypes on the structure of the children’s morphological and functional status. In the studied sample of schoolchildren dominates muscle and thoracic somatotype (40,0-43,9 %). 92,3 % of children have low body mass. Total number of children with harmonic morphological development is 40,4 %, the largest number of disharmonic variants was found in abdominal somatotype (81,8 %). Development of the girls’ musculoskeletal system in terms of carpal dynamometry is at the lower boundary age norm, boys don’t reach this boundary. Found that hemodynamic parameters: systolic blood pressure, cardiac index and index of functional reserves have typological differences. Children having abdominal somatotype are characterized by reduced functional reserves of the cardiovascular system. 53,1-63,3 of children have dominate vagotonic influence in providing vegetative tonus. Established sex differences in HRV parameters of children of muscular and abdominal somatotype. The boys with muscle somatotype compared to girls have reduced parameters of rhythmogram variability and total power of spectrum due to HF. Girls with abdominal somatotype have low temporal and spectral value. General factor in the structure of the morphological and functional status of children with asthenic, thoracic and muscular somatotype is vegetative factor, mainly represented by the degree of vagal control. Component structure of morphological and functional interaction of abdominal somatotype is disorganized, includes a large number of components, without a clear system hierarchy, that can be considered as a variant of disadaptation.
Key words: children, somatotype, morphological and functional status, autunomic nervous system.
