Abstract. Aboriginals and those Europeans who were born in the north in the 1st–3rd generation were examined to study and compare their morphofunctional indices. Found, that Aborigines of the 70–80s of the last century were much different from the modern Aborigines of the same age in the series of somatometric and functional indices. Of note that, there were no reliable differences between the modern Aborigines and Europeans born in the north in the 1st–3rd generation in most indices of their physical development, cardiohemodynamics, external respiration, and microcirculation. Besides, the changes in many morphofunctional parameters observed in the modern Aboriginals and north-born Europeans at the age of 16–21 have proved to be directed towards each other which can be considered as a convergent type of adaptation.
Key words: North, Aborigines, Europeans, morphofunctional indices.
