Abstract.
New areas of regenerative medicine associated with the use of stem/progenitor cells for tissue repair. The most perspective type of progenitor cells for clinical application are mesenchymal stem/stromal cells (MSC). The main properties of MSC, allowing them to successfully carry out the regeneration of tissue, should be attributed to their high proliferative and differentiation potential. MSC can be a precursor tissue-specific cells, as well as to induce regenerative activity of own residual stem cells. This review presents the modern data on MSC, their basic properties, methods and sources, as well as prospects of clinical application of MSC. Special attention is paid to the characteristics of MSC from the endometrial tissue and treatment of various diseases, as well as prospects of recovering their own endometrium.
