Abstract.
Thе article presents an analysis of standards and protocols for quality control in IVF laboratory. Specific attention is devoted to details of construction and design of a new IVF laboratory, standard safety measures for maintenance of quality control during the day-to-day operations, as well as potential sources of contamination and how to avoid such events. Further, details regarding the air handling, incubator maintenance and set up, as well as the importance of strict temperature and pH control within an IVF lab, are also discussed. This article highlights the critical importance of a strict quality control system within an IVF laboratory and provides evidence for a direct relationship between quality control and success rates of IVF laboratories.
