The Analysis of Iodine Availability of Children in Ekaterinburg and Variants of the Prevention

Abstract.

The research was devoted to the problem of iodine deficiency
in children of preschool and early school age in Yekaterinburg. During this
work we have determined 47.2 children of preschool and 49.5 % early
school age iodine deficiency. The efficacy of caramels with iodine in the
iodine deficiency prevention was determined. At the end of the intake of
caramels with iodine significant increase in median urinary iodine to 141.8
mg / l in children early school age (p <0.05). In children indices of thyroid
function have significantly improved.
