Abstract.
Antagonistic activity and adhesive properties of
opportunistic microflora cultures excreted in diagnostically significant
concentration from the sputum of patients with community-acquired
pneumonia were investigated. It was demonstrated that all the cultures
possessed a relatively marked antagonism in relation to different teststrains.
All the investigated bacterial cultures were revealed to have
adhesive ability on the cells of the human body. The obtained data
confirm significance of these properties in general pathogenic and
persistent potential of opportunistic microflora.
Keywords:
microbial antagonism, adhesion, community-acquired pneumonia.
