The Efficacy of the Neurofeedback Course on the Alpha Rhythm Spectral Power Enhancement Protocol in the Athletes of High Qualification: the Estimation of Secondary Endpoints – the Health¬related Quality of Life

Abstract. A study was undertaken of the effectiveness of preventive application of the neurofeedback course in sportsmen of high qualification. The neurofeedback was conducted according to the protocol of increase of electroencephalogram spectral power in the alpha range in lead С3А1. Effectiveness evaluation is made according to the comparison with placebo secondary endpoints. The secondary endpoints of the study were the health-related quality of life measures. The study included 134 athletes of high qualification. Method lottery randomization 122 participants were divided into theneurofeedback group. 12 participants were included in the placebo group. Dependent samples were analyzed by the criterion Χ2McNemar. Obtained results confirm a statistically significant decrease in frequency of the secondary endpoints, the frequency of the evaluations below the average level of summary measures and partial scores of parameters of quality of life. Concluded that the prophylactic use of neurofeedback course on sportsmen in efficiency superior to placebo.
