Abstract.
Age features of the haemostatic system were analyzed in patients admitted to the clinic for large joints replacement surgery. It has been shown that with the aging there are increased the activity of internal coagulation pathway and fibrinolysis, the levels of thrombomodulin and von Willebrand factor. At the same time, we observed the decrease in activity of external coagulation pathway, the levels of antithrombin III and plasminogen, platelet count. Multidirectional changes in haemostatic system decrease the stability of coagulative, anticoagulative and fibrinolytic mechanisms in the elderly.
