Abstract. Hepatoprotective influence of panic oil triterpenoids — miliacin in toxic liver damage caused by methotrexate (MTX) was studied during the experiment. Miliacin in a single dose of 2 mg/kg t.i.d. (over the period of 3 days) restricted structural damage of the organ, reduced hyperenzymemia and disorder of pigmentary exchange in mice (CBxC57Bl6)F1. Miliacin prevented clearance function depression of Kupffer’s cells in Wistar rats and increased anticancer effect of MTX in terms of tumor growth inhibition and survival rate of BDF1 mice with Lewis lung carcinoma. Protective effect of miliacin was mediated by restriction of oxidative stress and prooxidative gene — cyp 2e1 expression normalization in hepatocytes and gene antioxidative proteins — glured.
