Abstract. In current study the load-dependence relaxation index (LDRI) of isolated myocardium preparations in rats was investigated. The samples were taken in rats of different sexes and studied under monocrotaline induced heart failure (experimental group) and under normal conditions (control group). We found the statistically significant differences between males and females in control group and the absence of variations between males and females in experimental group.

Keywords: heart failure, load dependence
