Abstract. Aortic stenosis — one of the most common acquired heart disease in the absence of adequate correction leading to disability and death of patients. Available in the arsenal of surgical techniques open surgical correction of the defect are highly effective, but studies show that about 30% of patients are not able to move this operation, due to a number of reasons to take them at high risk. As an alternative method for the treatment of these patients has been proposed a technique of transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI). Recently, a technique is booming and discussed in the literature. In the Russian Federation, certified and used in the clinic valve prostheses Edwards SAPIENS XT (Edwards Lifescience), and MEDTRONIC CoreValve (Medtronic Inc.).
