Abstract.
In breast cancer the level of expression of topoisomerase II-α (TOP2α) may have independent predictive value to anthracycline antibiotics group.
367 cases of infiltrative breast carcinoma for expression TOP2α, Her2-neu were nvestigated by immunohistochemistry method. The expression of topoisomerase II-α was investigated in three scales: 1) L. Usha (overexpression of ≥35 %); 2) P. Fritz et al. (overexpression of ≥25 %); 3) Jan C. Brase and Ronan W. Glynn (overexpression of ≥10 %). All cases were divided into two groups, Depending of the value of topoisomerase IIα respectively selected scale.
Grouping values of HER-2 expression was performed respectively four-criteria of system DAKO. When using the scale of TOP2A overexpression of more than 10 % were able to establish that the number of cases accompanied overexpression of topoisomerase II-α increases simultaneously with increasing the expression level of HER-2/neu.
