Abstract.
Related metabolic disorders – non-enzymatic protein glycosylation and lipid peroxidation – take an active part in development of diabetic vascular complications. But glucose lowering medicines influence these processes is still investigated not enough. In investigation of 131 diabetes mellitus type 2 patients, forming oxidative stress accompanied by lipid peroxidation products accumulation in blood plasma and defect of antioxidant defense was discovered. Undoubtedly, the treatment by oral glucose lowering medicines, oxidative stress was depended on hyperglycemia, blood glycosylated proteins and triglycerides concentrations. Insulin treatment of diabetes mellitus type 2 patients was accompanied by increasing oxidative stress, because of lipid peroxidation substrate in blood lipoproteins increase. At that time, the connection between oxidative stress and disordered carbohydrate metabolism was lost.
