Abstract. Cardiorenal relationships are of high research interest nowadays because of increase in number of patients with cardiovascular diseases and high cardiac lethality among patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD). Acute myocardial infarction is one of the most common causes of mortality and disability. The incidence of the cardiorenal syndrome (CRS) among these patients is high. The aim of this study is investigation of structural and functional heart parameters in patients with acute myocardial infarction in the development and progression of CRS. Methods and database. Patients’ medical histories with acute myocardial infarction are retrospectively analyzed. Key results. There are revealed manifestations of CRS that correspond to 1-4 stages of CKD. The levels of fibrinogen, cholesterol, triglycerides, the coefficient of blood atherogenicity in the subgroup of patients with stage 3 and 4 were higher than in patients with stages 1 and 2 of CKD. Key conclusion. Changes in the structural and functional parameters of the heart are detected more often among patients with a marked degree of loss of kidney function.

Keywords: cardiorenal syndrome (CRS), acute myocardial infarction, chronic kidney disease (CKD)
