Abstract. The article presents the results of pharmacokinetic studies of benzimidazole derivative actoprotector bemythyl, its ability to accumulate in the brain tissue and other organs at various modes of administration. The experimental data obtained by studying the distribution bemythyl in organs and tissues of rats by a single and course ingestion of the drug evidence of the intensive transition bemythyl from the blood into the tissues and organs, including the brain. The ability of the drug to penetrate the blood-brain barrier and accumulate in the tissues of the brain in course administration allows to make a conclusion about the possibility of pharmacological correction of hypoxia and oxidative damage of the brain by actoprotector bemythyl.

Keywords: the brain, hypoxia, oxidative stress, bemythyl, the blood-brain barrier
