Malignant neoplasms rank second among the causes of death in the Russian Federation. The mortality rate from malignant neoplasms serves as an assessment of the population’s health. The research aim: was to evaluate the interim outcomes of the implementation of the regional program «Fighting Oncological Diseases in the Sverdlovsk Region». Materials and Methods. An analysis of the key indicator rates approved by the regional program «Fighting Oncological Diseases in the Sverdlovsk Region». Results. The dynamics of primary morbidity of malignant neoplasms, the proportion of patients in whom malignant neoplasms were detected at early stages, and the number of patients under outpatient care for five or more years, mortality and one-year mortality of patients with malignant neoplasms were studied. These indicators reflect the effectiveness of conducted activities, including early detection, treatment of malignant neoplasms, and the outpatient follow-up of oncology patients. Conclusions. The incidence and mortality rates of malignant neoplasms in the Sverdlovsk region characterize the performance of the regional oncology service. The benchmarks established in the regional program «Fighting Oncological Diseases» help identify trends and establish tasks for organizing effective assistance to patients with malignant neoplasms.
