Abstract. The aim of the work is to evaluate the effectiveness of the use of multipotent mesenchymal stromal cells (HMSC) differentiated into chondroblasts in the treatment of damage to the surface of the articular cartilage on the model of experimental mechanical damage to the articular cartilage.
The study involved twelve male Chinchilla rabbits. In the first group of animals, full-layer damage to the left and right distal cartilage of the knee joint was mechanically mechanical using trepan. The second group has non-full-layer damage to the corresponding joints. In the cavity of the right joints of experimental animals, 2×10⁶ HMSCs were injected in saline. In the cavity of the left joints, 0.5 ml of saline solution of sodium (control group). After 80 days from the time of the operation, an analysis of the macro and microscopic picture of the articular surfaces on the O’Driscoll scale was performed.
It was shown that intra-articular administration of HMSC has a pronounced preparation effect in relation to the cartilage tissue of the joint, with full-layer and non-full-layer injuries.
