Abstract. We examined 85 RA (ARA (1987)) patients with rheumatoid nodules (RN) and 35 patients without RN with routine methods and immunological tests. In 50% of nodular patients and 70% patients without RN we found four-five extra-articular manifestations (EAM) concurrently. EAM in nodular patients was mainly based on lymphocyte’s proliferation, immune reactions and granulomatous inflammation (cutaneous vasculitis, lymphadenopathy, etc. (table 1)). EAM in patients without RN mostly were due to nonspecific inflammation and intoxication (anemia, weight loss, etc. (table 1)). Patients with RN showed definite decrease of CD3+-T- cells via non-nodular group (p<0,05), the lowest level of CD3+-T-cells had patients with multiple nodules (p=0,025). The level of CD10+ was many times higher in RA patients than in control. In experiment on adhesion of PBL with thymus and lung epithelial cells RA patients performed 28% (average) of rosets via 13% (average) in healthy donors and 80% in control with thymocytes. Conclusion. RA with and without RN differ in EAM. Multiple RN correlates with CD3+-T-cells diminution. PBL of RA patients have features of “immaturity” and an increased adhesive potential.
