Abstract. Realization of work of the educational organizations linking with disease prevention and healthy lifestyle popularization is possible, provided that trained specialists are available. The purpose is to create a training system for professionals able to conduct training and classes of hygiene to kids, thus modeling a healthy lifestyle, strengthening health and preventing diseases. Materials and methods. The method of a poll surveyed the features of health status, lifestyles and hygienic skills of children (6,925 people), parents (916 people), and teachers (684 people) in 57 secondary schools in Yekaterinburg. The poll method was used to study the readiness of the students of the Ural State Medical University (UGMU) (890 people) to carry out professional activities of hygienic education among the population of the city. It was also targeted to reveal whether the students reading the programs of additional vocational education are contented with the quality of training courses (230 people). Results. UGMU has developed an approach for developing students' skills necessary for hygienic education of the population, through the syllabus of the education (disciplines and practical classes, as well as special courses), educational and extracurricular activities. High results were also achieved by the specialists studying the programs of additional vocational education. Conclusions. Elaboration of a healthy lifestyle, health promotion and disease prevention among the children's population remain the most important objectives of work of the educational institutions. Training professionals among medics and teachers is the most important task. The integration of disciplines, sections and separate topics concerning the study of the forms and methods of hygiene by population at all stages and levels of educational process ensures an increase in the competence of medical school graduates, medical personnel and pedagogical workers necessary to identify the risk factors of health disorders, and prevent them by means of hygienic skillfulness and upbringing.
