Abstract. Aim. Analysis of individual cases of settlement of claims of patients against medical organizations of the Tyumen region using the current contract of collective insurance of civil liability of medical organizations – members of the Tyumen Regional Medical Society. Materials and methods. As the material for the study, we selected our own data on claims of third parties (patients or their relatives) against medical organizations in the Tyumen region, whose liability was insured under a collective insurance contract. Analysis period: 2016-2023. The general procedure for working with complaints and claims from patients is considered, and an analysis of a number of cases from the practice of the Tyumen Regional Medical Society is provided, which led to the payment of compensation for harm caused to patients and their relatives. Practical recommendations are given for choosing the terms of professional liability insurance for doctors. The relevance of the professional liability insurance mechanism is shown as a way to protect the property interests of medical organizations and doctors related to patient claims. Conclusion. To obtain high-quality insurance protection, it is important for the policyholder and the insurer to agree on all the essential terms and conditions of it at the stage of concluding an insurance contract. The experience of the Tyumen Regional Medical Society shows that this makes it possible to settle claims of patients against medical organizations in the Tyumen region using the current collective insurance agreement for civil liability of medical organizations
