Abstract. Cultivation of epithelial cells on anti-adhesive films permits the production of multicellular tumor spheroids (3D cultures). 3D cultures are used to analyze antitumor drugs; to study cell adhesion; as well as intracellular processes in cells grown at dense intercellular contacts. Proliferation and functional properties of 2D and 3D cultures can differ significantly. In this work we have studied proliferation of pancreatic cell lines grown in 2 D and 3D conditions.

Keywords: multicellular tumor spheroids, proliferation functions
