Abstract.
The article presents the results of a study of cerebral energy exchange northern children 9–10 years using the method of recording the DC-potential. The results indicate higher energy consumption of the brain in general, and the reduction of energy consumption in the frontal regions of the other portions of the children living in the Far North, compared to their peers in the central regions of Russia. This fact can be considered as a manifestation of functional stress associated with exposure to adverse climatic and environmental conditions of the North on the children.
