Abstract.
Significant negative effects in the state of reproductive health in the Argayash region were recorded, particularly very high incidence rate of blood diseases and hypertension in women, premature births, perinatal pathology, incidence in babies aged under one year. Rather high levels of registered incidence rates in the Argayash region can be partly explained by a higher pathologic conditions identification accuracy due to increased qualifications and skills of medical personnel. The lower incidence rates in Kasli and Kunaschak regions are more likely to be explained by lower skills and shortage of doctors and nurses. In spite of this, the Kasli region is characterized by high indices in some pathologies: extragenital pathology in pregnant women, weakness and discoordination of delivery, perinatal mortality, low birth weight as well as congenital birth defects and pathological conditions in the perinatal period. We also have to note that whereas the most significant etiological factors in the Argayash region are Argayash Central Heating Station emissions and the consequences of radioactive pollution, the Kasli region is characterized by maximal levels of radioactive pollution and lower socio-economic status of population. Construction of the South-Urals NPP, can not exclude accidents and radioactive emissions that may have an additional adverse effect on health state of women and children.
