Abstract.

The paper presents the data of Tissue Doppler Echocardiographic examination of 121 women with type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM) and associated arterial hypertension (AH), women with isolated AH, and control patients. Myocardial strain assessment with using Tissue Doppler Imaging is a technique available for practical use, which enables quantitative and qualitative estimate of regional and global myocardial deformation in the post-processing mode. Analysis of the LV longitudinal and radial myocardial strain was performed. When studying the LV strain, we assessed the following: systolic strain — ε мах (%); ejection strain — ε et (%) and post-systolic myocardial shortening — εрs. As a part of study, correlation between the changes in the global systolic and diastolic LV function, and the changes in the LV longitudinal and radial myocardial strain was estimated.
