Abstract.
Male infertility is not only a serious medical and social problem of our time, but also a complex diagnostic challenge. Men generally have a greater morbidity and mortality, shorter life expectancies. This presupposes the existence of problems in men with reproductive health. Causes of male infertility are diverse and among them a special place is occupied by hormonal and metabolic disorders. Modern epidemiological studies show that the frequency of male infertility occurs against ‘non-infectious epidemic of the XXI century’ metabolic syndrome, obesity, type 2 diabetes. Against this background, there is a reduction in patients testosterone, the main hormone responsible for male reproductive function. Furthermore, dyslipidemia and hyperglycemia lead to the development of a systemic inflammatory process causes increased production of reactive oxygen species. In the case where the antioxidant protection becomes insufficient developing oxidative stress, which is described as the primary mechanism of damage spermatozoa. As you know, one of the most important factors is to preserve fertility sperm motility and viability, as one of the manifestations of damage should be considered аsthenozoospermia, changing quality and quantity of sperm.
The purpose of the study was to establish the contribution of hormonal-metabolic disturbances in the development of asthenozoospermia, morfo-functional changes of sperm on their background.
