Age Dynamics of Carbohydrate Metabolism Parameters and Monounsaturated Fatty Acids in Childhood and Adolescence-Youth Residents of Arkhangelsk Region

Abstract.
There were studied serum cholesterol fractions in 886 apparently healthy residents from Subpolar (SR) and 635 residents from Polar (PR) Northern regions in different age groups. The increase in blood concentration of atherogenic and decrease of anti-atherogenic lipid fractions in residents from Subpolar (SR) and Polar (PR) regions with age were combined with a shift towards lower levels of apolipoprotein A (apo A) and free cholesterol and towards high levels of apolipoprotein B (apo B), esterified cholesterol and the ratio of apo-A/apo-B, which was more pronounced in PR in the next age groups of residents: 16–21, 36–45, 46–60, 61–74 years and in SR in the age groups: 22–35, 36–45, 46–60, 61–74 years.
